About Eric Banh

Eric Banh is a Seattle restaurant owner who guides Monsoon with his sister Sophie. He oversees the Capitol Hill eatery that has delivered elevated Vietnamese cuisine for years. Now spanning multiple locations, Eric Banh’s restaurant offers an extensive European wine menu and popular dishes such as grilled Asian eggplant, seared Chilean sea bass, and Dungeness crab. Having immigrated to Canada with his family as a child, Mr. Banh began his work in a professional kitchen setting while still in school. He went on to establish his first restaurant, the Lemongrass Cafe in Edmonton. Moving to Seattle to join his family, Mr. Banh focused on building an expanding restaurant business that ultimately grew beyond Monsoon to include Ba Bar and its rethinking of traditional Asian street food. Among the health-conscious menu items featured are braised tofu banh mi, green papaya salad with tamarind, and green noodles with lemongrass tofu. Mr. Banh runs a complex operation, including menu development and kitchen protocol, and maintains a multicultural staff. A core emphasis for Eric Banh is giving back to the community through contributions to refugee, children’s, and animal welfare causes.
